Big Jarrah Tour
Do you want to learn more about the impact of bauxite mining on WA’s beautiful jarrah forests?
Join Jarrahdale Forest Protectors, WA Forest Alliance and Ricky England for a bus tour around the Northern Jarrah forests for a chance to see first hand how bauxite mining is affecting the forests. The tour will go through beautiful unmined jarrah forest, rehabilitated forest and mined areas. You’ll be able to see up close the devastating effects of mining on forests and the proximity to water catchments, guided by locals and campaigners.
There are two tours, leaving from the Serpentine Jarrahdale Landcare Centre. The first will be leaving the community centre at 8:30 am, and returning at 12:30pm. The second will leave the Serpentine Jarrahdale Landcare Centre at 1pm and return at 5:00pm. There will be a break for morning/aftenoon tea on each tour.
Tickets are free but limited, so book quickly to get a spot!
Volunteer Night
Monday 1st of June, 6-8pm
City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth
Come along to WA Forest Alliance’s volunteer night to learn you can get involved in protecting WA’s beautiful native forests!
This will be a great opportunity to meet likeminded folks and learn more about what the WA Forest Alliance has been up recently. Whether you’re new to the movement and keen to see where you can help out, or you’ve been around for a while and want an update – this is the event for you! We’ll be going through where the campaigns are at, what the most impactful thing you can do is, as well as sharing some food and chats and maybe even do a poster and sticker run afterwards!
Our beautiful native forests are facing threats all across the south west – from Alcoa’s destructive bauxite mining to dangerous prescribed burns on the south coast. Now is the time to get involved to protect our forests forever!
