Support WA Forest Alliance this end of financial year
Since 1990, WAFA has been at the forefront of protecting WA’s precious forests.
In that time, we’ve made great progress. Native forest logging as we knew it has ended, the WA Government is committed to safeguarding over 600,000ha of forests in protected areas, and companies mining forests are being held to account more than ever before, but the fight continues.
In the last year, WAFA and our allies have:
- Gathered 59,000 submissions to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) on Alcoa’s mining and expansion
- Removed several blocks of tingle forest from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) 2025-26 burn plan.
- Successfully challenged Alcoa’s rehabilitation claims in advertising with Ad Standards ruling in favour of our complaint alongside Conservation Council of WA and the Wilderness Society.
- Kept the pressure firmly on Alcoa by continuing to build a community-centred campaign.
Through making a donation, you will enabled us to remain independent and effective, calling out those who pose a threat to the Southwest’s magnificent forests.
Our work is far from over. WA’s forests are still under threat from mining by the likes of Alcoa, South32, and Telupac, as well as prescribed burning, forest collapse and poor management.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
You can also donate directly to our bank account with the details below. Please email forests@wafa.org.au once you have donated so that we can provide a receipt.
